Rep. Brad Klippert honored by Future Farmers of America

During a ceremony at the governor's mansion on Thursday night, the Future Farmers of America (FFA) honored Rep. Brad Klippert, R-Kennewick. The Washington Chapter of the FFA recognized Klippert for his dedication and work creating the commemorative state license plate for Washington's young farmers and ranchers.

“I'm truly honored to receive this recognition from the Washington Chapter of the Future Farmers of America,” said Klippert. “I'm inspired by the young people of this organization. As a former member, I know how hard they work. They are the future of American agriculture. It is my pleasure to continue to support their efforts.”

Gov. Jay Inslee signed Klippert's legislation into law on March 25, 2016. The law went into effect on Jan. 1, 2017. Thursday night's ceremony celebrated the rollout of the official plates. Funds from the purchase of these commemorative state license plates will fund educational programs sponsored by the Washington Chapter of the FFA.

“We have been dreaming about having our own license plate for a long time,” said Marissa Dunn, executive director of the FFA Foundation. “Rep. Klippert took the final bull by the horns and made our dream a reality. We cannot thank him enough for his continued support to our organization.”
